G77 VOLUNTEERS INITIATIVE OFFICIAL LAUNCHING RECORDS MASSIVE TURNOUT OF MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS IN NIGERIA

The official launching of G77 Volunteers Initiative recorded massive turnout of major stakeholders, personalities, representatives of corporate brands and key players in politics. The spectacular event was convened on 16th May at Exhibition Pavilion, CBD, Abuja.
G77 which stands for ‘Great 77 Volunteers Initiative’ is pioneered by 77 vibrant youths who served as volunteers in the situation room for the re-election of Nigeria President Mohammadu Buhari. These volunteers were drawn from various geopolitical zones and the cohesion shared during the 3weeks by the participants gave birth to this Initiative.
The event kicked started with the introduction of special invited guests and subsequently singing of the National Anthem. Some of the special guests who graced the occasion were: Hon. Simi Fajemirokun, Bar. Ayodeji Bamigbola, Arch. AC Okpanachi, Mr. Chijioke, others are: Mr. Ibrahim, Mr. Ibinabo, Mr. Nicholas Iroegbu, Mr. Aliyu Mega, Princess Ashley Momoh, Mrs. Ehiosu Uhuangho, and Miss. Tegan Jessup.
G77 members thrilled the hall with a short drama about youth involved in illegal means of making money as well as bribery. Some members also made presentation on various topics regarding youth inclusiveness in politics and decision making in Nigeria.
At the climax of the event was a keynote speech by Hon. Simi Fajemirokun who challenged G77 members to not just identify the problem, but also proffer solutions.
“We know the challenges of Nigerian youths; we all know we are not where we want to be yet. All the G77 members who worked with the President during his re-election will definitely be heard across Nigeria and beyond. Every single service each of you rendered would surely be rewarded.“
“It’s one thing to identify our problem; it’s another thing to proffer solutions. Nigerian schools were the best schools in time immemorial, Ghana and other Africa countries studied here in Nigeria, but now our youth go to other countries, even Ghana to study.“
What went wrong?
“Is G77 going to checkmate the government, and demand what policies are being put in place to ensure the growth of our economy?“
“I am challenging G77, where would you be when decisions that concern your future are made?“
“I want you to imagine Nigeria where other countries will come to study in our schools. It’s incompetence that causes corruption.”
“How do you fix the health bills so we don’t go around begging for assistance when we get old?“
“It can only happen if we put pressure in the right places. The people that will make a great Nigeria are those seated in this room. Let’s organize quarter events to challenge the progress of the Nation. Bring up innovative ideas that would create job opportunities.“
“Let’s know what your imagination is on tourism which can create job opportunities. We are ready to support G77, we will engage some of you in the processes of governance.“
May we make Nigeria great again!
The coordinator Mr Alexander Aaron also reiterated his commitment towards ensuring the smooth achievement of G77 Initiative’s vision.
“G77 was an idea borne out of necessity. After delivering on the task in the situation room which resulted in the re-election of the President, it was imperative that we harness this collective sense of purpose for a greater cause. It’s not just enough to add to the success of the re-election, it is also important for us to pull our supports together and help this current administration achieve its campaign promises in any way possible.”
“We can only achieved this if we as G77 members engage in direct policy issues; we aspire to enhance the inclusiveness of youths in politics and election contests. With adequate leadership preparation and mentorship, G77 will strive to amplify the articulation of the interests of the youth at large, to assist the President in achieving his campaign promises.“
Mr. Alexander assured stakeholders that all plans have been put in place to ensure impactful outreach in the coming months with the unveiling of it’s hashtag #Ready2Serve.
