This is a bleeding from the nose which may occur as a result of ruptured blood vessels in the nostrils or as a result of injuries, diseases or some environmental factors, blood from the nostrils is  usually fresh and bright red in color.

The first aid management of Nose bleeding include:

Placing the patient in a sitting position, leaning forward facing downwards to allow blood to drain

Pinch the nose at the point where the bone meets the softer cartilage, grip firmly for 3-5 minutes. If you are holding the nose correctly, the bleeding should ease quickly (if not the adjust your grip) Even if bleeding eases completely, maintain the grip for 3-5 minutes, this allows the clot to form properly.

Apply cold compress to the forehead.

Obtain medical assistance if bleeding is not showing any sign of stopping after 15-20 minutes.

THE AIM OF TREATMENT IS TO STOP THE PATIENT FROM LOOSING A LOT OF BLOOD AND TO FORESTALL SHOCK.
