Tears As Suspected Cultist Axe Polytechnic Student to Death in Cold Blood.
A student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, in Ethiope West Local Government Area, in Ethiope West Local Government Area, was brutally hacked to death by suspected cultists.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening, January 30.
The deceased was identified as Frank Ochuko and was attacked by his assailants near the staff quarters.
Spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident on Sunday evening, said the student was ambushed by four men armed with axes and other dangerous weapons.
“It is true. The report is that the girl (girlfriend of deceased) said she and her boyfriend went to settle scores with one lecturer somewhere and as they were coming out of the place, about four people dragged the boyfriend into the bush,” said the PPRO.
“She was the one that ran to the police to report. When the police got there, he was stabbed with an axe and all those things. So, police took him to the hospital and doctor confirmed that he was already dead.” she added.
Also In DELTA state, a man identified as Emeke Ojere was assassinated by gunmen suspected to be assassins.
He was killed at Ugbomro community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The father of three, who hails from Oyoko-Abavo in Ika South Local Government Area of the state but resides in Warri, was shot dead in his car on Saturday, January 30.
One Mr Egbehon who drove the G-LK Mercedes Benz car told journalists that he was in the car with his “Oga” (the deceased) and another occupant when gunmen accosted them.
“We went to Ogbomro community to visit one of our townsmen but suddenly gunmen blocked us and asked us to lay down. Oga was shot before they left.” Egbehon said.

Five members of a notorious kidnap gang, which specialises in the abduction of women and girls have been arrested by the Nigerian police.
They not only kidnap them, but they also s*xually abuse their victims and obtain a ransom from their families before release.
A statement issued by Force spokesperson, CP Frank Mba on Sunday, January 31, said the five suspects were arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team following a massive manhunt for the perpetrators of the recent trend of the abduction of women in some states in the South-South part of the country, especially Port Harcourt and its environs.
“The victims are subjected to series of s*xual abuses and a ransom demanded from their families before their release,” the statement reads.
The suspects are Osinachi Ngwakwe ‘m’ 22yrs from Ubaka Community in Umahia South LGA, Abia State, Sammy Junior Inordee ‘alias T-Boy ‘m’ 27yrs, from Gwarra Community in Khana LGA, Rivers State, Epo-Bari Nwolu ‘m’ 26yrs from Ogale Community in Eleme, LGA, Rivers State, Yabari Gbarale ‘m’ 29yrs from Gwara community, Khana LGA, Rivers State and Barine Yilda ‘m’ 30yrs alias Albino or Yellow from Gwara community, Khana LGA, Rivers State.

A lady identified as Maureen Eugene took to social media to disclose that her elder sister poured boiling water on her sleeping niece.
The lady revealed that her elder sister poured boiling water on one of their sister’s daughters who lives with her.
She said the victim identified as Chinaza, aged 14, was sleeping at about 3 am when her elder sister – the child’s aunt – boiled water 4 times and poured it on the sleeping girl.
This incident left the girl with burns on her face, neck, chest, and shoulders.
After Maureen’s post, a Facebook user named Nkechi Bianze reached out to Maureen, demanding her elder sister’s number so they can get justice for the victim.
However, Maureen explained that her family has forgiven her sister and they will like to keep it as a private family matter, away from the public.
