The federal government of Nigeria banned the use of a popular micro- blogging platform identified as ” Twitter”.

The platform called Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams in March 2006.

Twitter was later launched 4 months later after it was created. From 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day which makes it one of the most recommended information source worldwide.

Human rights activist identified as ” Aisha Yesufu” and ” Oby Ezekwesili” have reacted as their names appeared on the list of Twitter users in Nigeria despite the recent ban by the federal government of Nigeria.

Some of the Nigerian citizens have refused to adhere to the recent policy implemented by the federal government of Nigeria concerning the use of Twitter in Nigeria, Aisha Yesufu and Oby Ezekwesili is no exception.

Nigerians believe that it is their constitutional right to express their rights to freedom.

Some other public figures in Nigeria are still using Twitter according to the Nigeria Twitter users list recently released.

According to Oby Ezekwesili, she narrated that the list that was sent to her made her laugh. According to what was written on the list, those who still use Twitter will be arrested.

Aisha Yesufu also laughed at the list that was released because her name was also included.

Twitter was banned in Nigeria after President Buhari tweeted an alleged threat tweet to Nigerians saying that those of them who fought the civil war would treat Nigerians in the language that they understand.

They use different VPN networks to access the platform from Nigeria.

Nigerians who still use Twitter are countless as they are already trending in the United States.

The recent misunderstanding between singer Seyi Shay and Tiwa Savage started trending on Twitter in the United States.

This was made possible by Nigerians using a VPN to access Twitter.

Nigerians strongly believe that it is their right to access Twitter because they have the right to freedom of expression.

Aisha Yesufu and Oby Ezekwesili seem fearless despite their status in the country.
