“Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Alhamdulilah Alhamdulillah, I have received approval to take Aminu Alhassan Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Madina. He will be buried tomorrow morning by the grace of Allah,” Junaidu announced.
The burial process is expected to proceed on Monday, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary life that spanned nearly a century.
Dantata, who died after a brief illness, had expressed his desire to be buried next to his wife, Rabi’a, who passed away in 2023. The family honored this request, ensuring the couple’s reunion in their final resting place in Islam’s second-holiest city.
On Saturday, a special Islamic funeral prayer (Salatul Ga’ib) was held in Kano, drawing prominent figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and a large gathering of mourners. The prayer session reflected the deep respect and admiration Dantata commanded across Nigeria’s political, business, and social spheres.
