RARE HISTORY: How Sunday Igboho Cheated Death After His Boss “Isamotu” Was Killed Cold- Bl00ded In Modakeke.
Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, was one of the warriors that fought the communal conflict between Modakeke and Ile Ife between 1997 and 2002, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo mediated the problem through a commission led by Chief Olabode George.
After the crisis ended in 2000, Sunday Igboho, who had previously worked as a professional motorcycle repairer in Modakeke, Osun State, was unable to return to his previous job because he had joined the Osun State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, under his boss, Isamotu Double.

During their time in office, Double and Sunday Igboho demanded that all motorcycle riders in the state register with NURTW, despite the fact that the motorcyclists already had their own organization, causing internal strife among NURTW members and okada riders in the state.
People who had fled and returned after the Modakeke- Ile Ife battle were forced to flee to other states for safety when the two factions began killing people unfairly. The NURTW members were headed by Sunday Igboho and Isamotu Double, while the motorbike riders were led by one individual named ‘ Okirika. ‘
During this time, the unending crisis led to the formation of the Modakeke Peace Committee, which was led by Mr Yekin Awopetu at the time, and it was after the committee was formed that peacemakers and police operatives began raiding garages, arresting any okada rider they saw, and Okirika was arrested along the way, while Isamotu Double and Sunday Igboho resisted arrest.
When irate youths in the area learned of this, they conspired to assassinate Double and also attempted to kill Sunday Igboho because they were blamed for the unrest, but Sunday eluded them.

Sunday ran to a police station on the day they planned to kill him, and when the irate teenagers stormed the station, officers permitted him to leap through the fence and flee to Ibadan, as his car, which he had left in front of the station, was set on fire.

After being forced out of Modakeke, Osun State, Sunday Igboho escaped to Ibadan and began a new life. When the intercommunal conflict between Ife and Modakeke erupted in 1997, history revealed that, despite the fact that he was not born there, Sunday Igboho aided the people of Modakeke greatly before joining NURTW after the conflict was over.
