“You Look Like You’re on Substances” – Phyna and Blessing CEO’s War of Words Escalates Over Dangote N20M Compensation.
A personal tragedy has erupted into a public feud, pitting BBNaija star Phyna against self-styled relationship expert Blessing CEO. The conflict centers on the compensation provided by the Dangote Group following the death of Phyna’s sister, Ruth, in a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks.
The dispute began when Phyna publicly expressed her dissatisfaction after the Dangote Group offered her family N20 million as compensation. Phyna, who is grieving the loss of her sister, had previously suggested a much higher figure, citing the immense value of her sister’s life. Her public criticism of the conglomerate sparked widespread discussion online.

The situation escalated when Blessing CEO inserted herself into the conversation, launching a pointed critique against Phyna’s handling of the matter. In a series of statements, Blessing CEO argued that Phyna was overstepping her bounds.
Blessing CEO’s primary argument was that the matter should be handled by Phyna’s parents, not the reality TV star. “You are not Ruth’s father,” she stated. “It is proper for Dangote to deal with him directly. You don’t have much say on this matter.”

She revealed that Dangote had sent an official letter of acknowledgment for the N20 million to Phyna’s father, suggesting the family patriarch was the appropriate point of contact. Blessing CEO also questioned the logic behind Phyna’s initial demand, calling her reported N5 billion compensation claim unreasonable. “How can you ask for N5billion? That is too much,” she remarked.
The debate took a deeply personal and controversial turn when Blessing CEO commented on Phyna’s appearance during a live video. In a remark that has drawn criticism from many, she said, “In your live video, you don’t even look ok, you look like someone that is on substance. Who will take you serious?”

This statement shifted the focus from the logistics of compensation to a character assessment, implying that Phyna’s emotional state—or her alleged use of substances—invalidated her right to publicly grieve and demand accountability.
The online community is divided. Some agree with Blessing CEO, believing that such sensitive financial and legal matters are best handled by parents and that public outbursts can be counterproductive. Others, however, have rallied behind Phyna, arguing that her grief is valid and that her public platform gives her a voice to challenge a corporate giant. Many have condemned Blessing CEO’s “substance” comment as a low blow that unnecessarily stigmatizes a person in mourning.
