Aziz Salha, Infamous for Lynching Israeli Soldiers, Killed in Gaza Strike 24 Years Later.

Israeli forces have killed Aziz Salha, a notorious terrorist involved in the brutal lynching of two captured soldiers. Salha gained infamy in 2000 when he was photographed waving his blood-covered hands after the murder of Israeli reservists Vadim Norzhich and Yosef Avrahami in Ramallah.

On October 12, 2000, the two soldiers had accidentally entered the Palestinian-controlled city and were detained at the el-Bireh police station. False rumors about Israeli undercover agents being held there led to a violent mob of over 1,000 people storming the station, where the soldiers were savagely beaten, stabbed, and mutilated.

Salha’s appearance at the window with bloodied hands symbolized the brutality of the attack, which escalated when one soldier’s body was thrown from the window and both bodies were dragged to Al-Manara Square.

Now, nearly 24 years after the lynching, Salha was killed in a strike on Deir al-Balah in Gaza. His death follows the passing of another key figure in the incident, Nasser Abu Hamid, a founder of Fatah’s al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who died of cancer two years earlier.
