MultiChoice Nigeria has officially announced the highly anticipated return of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), with its tenth season premiering on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The launch will continue into Sunday, July 27, marking an exciting double premiere for fans.
In a media briefing held on Wednesday, organizers revealed that this year’s edition will feature the largest grand prize in the show’s history – a staggering ₦150 million. This surpasses previous seasons’ rewards and sets a new benchmark for the reality series that first debuted in 2006.

The show’s beloved host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, will return to guide viewers through what promises to be 10 weeks of intense drama, strategic gameplay, and captivating entertainment. The season finale is scheduled for October 5, 2025.
Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice, described Season 10 as more than just another edition, calling it “a celebration of legacy.” While the official theme remains under wraps, it will be unveiled during the premiere event.
The selection process for this year’s contestants began with online registrations from May 3 to 7, followed by physical screenings in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu between May 16 and 18. The rigorous audition process was designed to identify Nigeria’s most dynamic and entertaining personalities.
At the media event, Ebuka shared fascinating statistics about the show’s impact: over nine seasons, BBNaija has featured 197 housemates, awarded ₦637 million in total prize money, and accumulated 709 days of broadcast time.
Season 9, themed “No Loose Guard,” introduced an innovative pairing format where contestants entered as duos before later competing individually. The season saw Kellyrae emerge as winner, taking home ₦100 million and making history as the first married housemate to win the show. Other memorable contestants included Wanni X Handi, the Mbadiwe twins, Onyeka, Nelly, and Shaun.

Fans can catch the Season 10 premiere live at 7 p.m. WAT on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Family, and Showmax. The 24-hour live stream will be available on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49.
