Buhari Approves N1.4 Billion for Purchase of Vehicles for Niger Republic

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of N1.4 billion for the purchase of vehicles to tackle insecurity in Niger Republic.

The Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed confirm this on Wednesday.

The vehicles which had already been purchased is an intervention for Niger Republic to help tackle the high raising of insecurity within the region.

According to Zainab, President Buhari has the authority to make his own assessment of situations and give directives on what to do, and she cannot questions his decisions.

She stressed that the purchase of the vehicles is in the best interest of both countries in a bid to tackle the raising insecurity within the region.

The minister, who was speaking after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President, responded to questions regarding documents released on social media which showed that the president approved the release of the funds on February 22, 2022, for the Niger Republic.
