President Muhammadu Buhari last Wednesday approved the appointment of Prof. Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei as the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
With this appointment, Daniel Pondei replaced Barrister Joy Nunieh.
The President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has also approved the enlargement of the NDDC’s Interim Management Committee from three to five.
The four other members of the committee that would work with Pondei are: Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Acting Executive Director (Projects); Mr. Ibanga Bassey Etang, Acting Executive Director (Finance and Administration); Mrs. Caroline Nagbo (member); and Cecilia Bukola Akintomide, a former Vice President with the African Development Bank, (member).
Pondei is a Professor of Medicine at Niger Delta University and former Provost, College of Health Sciences of the institution.
Buhari had earlier approved that the Interim Management Committee would be in place till the forensic audit of the NDDC was concluded.
