Enugu Realtor Arrested for Allegedly Ordering Murder to Incite Land Grab.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a prominent Enugu-based real estate agent, Kingsley Nebo, for his alleged involvement in a chilling murder-for-land scheme that led to the death of a 25-year-old man, Sochima Onoh.
Nebo, the owner of Dandatec Real Estate, was captured in a police operation that also led to the arrest of five accomplices, with several others still at large.
According to police authorities, the suspect has confessed to a calculated plan to orchestrate violence for financial gain. In a video confession seen by our correspondent, Nebo allegedly admitted to paying a sum of one million naira to hired assassins to carry out the killing on July 12, 2025.

The investigation reveals that the murder was not a random act of violence but a coldly calculated strategy. Police sources indicate that Nebo’s plan was to have someone from the community killed to create a pretext for a full-blown communal clash.
The ensuing chaos, he allegedly believed, would provide a smokescreen for him to illegally seize and process vast portions of land through the Enugu State Geographical Information System (ENGIS). This method, investigators suspect, is a pattern the realtor has employed in other communities, using communal unrest as a disguise for land grabbing.

The case took a dramatic turn with the intervention of federal forces from Abuja. The arrest was reportedly made by a special squad dispatched by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Intelligence Department (FID).

This direct intervention from the national level became necessary following boasts attributed to the suspect. Nebo had allegedly bragged that “all the police in Enugu is in his pocket,” raising concerns about his ability to influence the local command and obstruct justice.
The DIG’s squad from Abuja was therefore tasked with apprehending him and his accomplices to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation.

The gruesome nature of the crime has left the victim’s family and the community in grief. A family source confirmed that the burial of the late Sochima Onoh has been put on hold indefinitely.
“The young boy will not be buried until justice is served so that he can rest in peace,” the source stated, highlighting the family’s determination to see the legal process through to its conclusion.
