Student Beaten to Death at Ajayi Crowther University.
A high-powered delegation from the Warri and Uvwie kingdoms of Delta State visited Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State on Wednesday to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Alex Timileyin, a student who allegedly died after being beaten by his colleagues last Saturday.
The delegation, led by the deceased’s uncle, Prince Yemi Emiko, and Efe Ofobruku, included other representatives from the kingdoms, such as Alex Eyengho and Clem Onotoye. They arrived at the university to seek answers about the tragic incident and to demand justice for the deceased.
During their visit, the delegation met with university authorities, including the vice chancellor and other top officials. They expressed their concerns about the safety and well-being of students at the university and demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Alex’s death.
The delegation also visited the mortuary where Alex’s body was being held and was shocked by the condition of the facility. According to Yemi Otuedon, a member of the delegation, the mortuary was not functioning properly, and Alex’s body showed signs of severe injuries and swelling. “There were injuries all over his head and body. If you saw the body, you would know it wasn’t a small bleed,” Otuedon said.

The delegation also visited the scene of the incident where Alex was allegedly beaten and expressed dismay at the living conditions of students at the university. “If you see where these children are staying, they are like prisoners. Despite the kind of money paid to the school,” Otuedon said.
The delegation’s visit was live-streamed on Facebook, and Otuedon shared videos from their visit, writing, “A high-powered delegation from Warri kingdom and Uvwie kingdom of Delta State led by Prince Yemi Emiko and Efe Ofobruku arrived at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo to seek the whereabouts of their son Akro Alex Chamuke. Justice is all we seek, nothing but justice.”
The family and delegation are seeking justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Alex’s death. They also demand that the university take responsibility for the safety and well-being of its students.
