According to news, at least 22 underage girls from Akwa Ibom State were rescued from a prostitution home in Ogun State on Friday.
The girls were allegedly lured from Akwa Ibom to Ogun State with fictitious job offers.
Some of them said that they were brought to the Gateway State to work as salesgirls, but that they were later locked in separate rooms and forced to work as prostitutes.

On Saturday, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Police Department, announced the arrest to the media.
The rescue operation was directed by the Area Commander of Ota, ACP Muhideen Obe, after reliable intelligence was gathered, according to Oyeyemi.
Obe had received information that minors from other states were being recruited and used as commercial s*x workers at a KOLAB hotel in Itele Ota.
According to Oyeyemi, the police squad raided the hotel at about 8 p.m where the 22 teenagers, ranging in age from 10 to 14 years, were rescued. “

“During questioning, the girls described how they were lured from their respective villages in Akwa Ibom State to come to Ogun State with the promise of employment as sales girls in restaurants and supermarkets, only to be moved to a brothel in Ogun State as commercial s*x workers after arriving in Lagos. “
According to the police spokesman, the girls were “denied the use of a phone or some other communication device,” making it difficult for them to contact their parents or relatives.
During the operation, the hotel’ s boss, Isaac Ogbaji, 33, and ten other male suspects were arrested, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Ogun Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has directed that the case be investigated by the Ota Area Command’ s family support unit.
The unit’ s mission is to track down the recruitment cartel and bring them to justice as quickly as possible.
