“Give Us Rice, Oil, Maggi & Salt Or Your People Won’t Eat”- GunmenTell Residents After Kidnapping 60 People In Kaduna.
It was earlier reported that unknown gunmen abducted no fewer than 60 people who were worshipping at a church in Kaduna State. The gunmen had invaded a service being held at Emanuel Baptist Church, in the community of Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen had whisked away from the worshippers to an unknown location, and have now gotten in contact with the community, demanding that the community provide them with food for the abductees.

This was made known by an anonymous resident in Kakau Daji, who had family members among those who were abducted by the gunmen in the church.
It was learned that the gunmen had fired shots indiscriminately as they invaded the church, with the shots killing at least one person, who was identified as Yusuf Dauda, as others scampered for safety. It is not known if any other congregants were injured in the attack.
According to the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the gunmen went to where the children in the church were seated, probably intending to kidnap them; but they changed their minds and surrounded the entire church building.

The residents had received a call from the kidnappers in the evening, that they should give them the following food items: five bags of rice, as well as four gallons of groundnut oil.
The gunmen also wanted some cartons of Maggi and some salt. They warned that if the residents did not provide the food, the victims would have nothing to eat.
According to the resident, the kidnappers appeared to be more concerned about the foodstuff they demanded their victims than about their victims’ welfare in the face of their current ordeal in the bush.
