The incident reportedly happened at Kufunda Village, Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza, Malawi, where the grandfather of the victims said he was left with no choice but to do it because the minor girls seduced him.
Sergeant Cassim Manda who is the Dedza Police Deputy Public Relations Officer confirmed the development on Friday and said during the trial that Danken admitted to r@ping the children but was quick to say he committed the offense because the victims were seduced him. An excuse which the court later frowned at.

The State Prosecutor, Sub Inspector Mercy Scott, told the court that Danken in September 2021 s3xually forced himself on the first victim, the 11- year- old girl before descending on the younger one too.
According to the mother of the girls whose house is not far from their grandfather’s house, she went to pick up the girls after learning that they were at their grandfather’s place but was surprised to see her daughter coming out of her grandfather’s house with her underwear in her hand.

During investigation and interrogation of what transpired in the room, one of the girls said their grandad had been r@ping her since last year and he was giving her K100(N50) with the promise that the s3xual abuse will boost her breasts.
Both victims were issued with medical report forms for examination at the hospital which later certified that they were defiled, and their grandad attests to it as being responsible for such an act with flimsy excuse.
Senior Resident Magistrate Clemence Chamwenda who delivered the judgments agreed with the state prosecutor and observed that the convict was supposed to protect the victims being their grandparents and that the victims are traumatized, hence a custodial sentence without looking at the age factor could fit him.
He was then sentenced to 21 years imprisonment without hard labor on each count. Both sentences will run concurrently.
