Gunmen attack army checkpoint in Ebonyi, kill soldier.
Gunmen have attacked a military checkpoint at Uburu in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state and killed one personnel on duty.
The incident, it was gathered, occurred on Wednesday at the boundary between Uburu in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state and Mpu in Aninri local government area of Enugu state.
Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Uchenn Orji, confirmed the attack to newsmen shortly after the State Security Council meeting in Abakaliki on Thursday.

Three notorious members of a popular kidnapping syndicate, as well as their cook identified as Taiwo Fayoke, have been apprehended by the operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command. The suspects have confessed to many kidnappings cases across the state, including that of late Chief Abiodun Ajayi, who was abducted earlier in the year in Ado- Ekiti, according to ASP Abutu Sunday, the command’s public relations officer. Late Ajayi jumped from their vehicle but died in the hospital while undergoing treatment for the injuries he sustained during the incident.

According to reports On 06/11/2021 at about 16: 00hrs, the police quick response squad Squad acting on a good investigation, apprehended one Ogunremi Bunmi who is, the son of late Chief Ogunremi Sesan of Ado- Ekiti and one Ige Adu of Ikere- Ekiti for numerous kidnappings and other heinous crimes, ” the PPRO stated. During interrogations, the suspects confessed to be responsible for the kidnapping of one Olowo Bolaji in Ipoti- Ekiti sometime in the year. The suspects also confessed to having abducted one Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami, a businessman and a petrol dealer on the state. CLICK HERE TO FINISH READING.
