The tragic murder of Ifesinachi Onyekere, the popular Anambra entrepreneur and CEO of Fish Magnet Enterprise, has left many in shock, including activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), who broke down in tears while recounting their last conversations.
Ifesinachi, widely known as “Fish Magnet”, was famous on Instagram for showcasing his thriving fish business, often posting videos of his impressive fish breeds and barbecue enterprise. His sudden and brutal killing has sparked outrage, with many condemning the act as senseless and cruel.

According to reports, gunmen stormed his Awka residence late Tuesday, shooting him dead before abducting his body. Shockingly, the assailants later contacted his mother, directing her to retrieve her son’s body from a nearby location. Ifesinachi was her only child, deepening the tragedy.
VDM’s Emotional Tribute: “He Wanted to Appreciate Me”
In a heartbreaking video, VDM revealed that Ifesinachi had reached out to him twice in April, offering to send him fish as a token of appreciation for his activism.
“He reached out to me two times this April,” VDM said, visibly emotional. “He told me his fish was ready and asked for my address so he could send it to me. He said he wanted to appreciate the work I do for Nigerians.”

Tragically, VDM only saw the messages after Ifesinachi’s death. Overwhelmed with regret, he lamented: “I didn’t know that would be our last conversation. I get too many messages, so I didn’t see it on time.”
VDM also recalled first noticing Ifesinachi when the late entrepreneur posted on Tunde Ednut’s Instagram page, asking people to tag VDM so he could send him fish.

A Community in Mourning
The murder has sent shockwaves through Anambra, especially given Ifesinachi’s prominence and his mother’s political standing. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi (Adaejiejemba), his mother, is the Anambra State Woman Leader for APGA, adding another layer of public interest to the case.

As of now, the police have not officially confirmed the incident, and no arrests have been made. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, leaving many to demand justice for the slain entrepreneur.
Outpouring of Grief and Calls for Justice
Social media has been flooded with tributes, with fans and fellow entrepreneurs mourning a man who was not just a businessman but also a kind-hearted supporter of others. VDM’s emotional reaction has further amplified calls for authorities to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book. VDM has set out to visit Anambra State for a candlelight session in memory of Ifesinachi.
