How My 15 Year Old Daughter Contacted HIV – Father’s Agony After Daughter’s HIV Reveals Five-Year Abuse.
In a heartbreaking post on social media, a father has shared the unimaginable story of how his 15-year-old daughter contracted HIV, tracing the infection back to years of sexual abuse by men living in their own apartment building.
The father explained that his daughter had fallen seriously ill, suffering from constant colds, mouth sores, and drastic weight loss. What he initially dismissed as a seasonal bug turned out to be far more serious.
After running tests, a doctor asked to speak to him alone. “That was when he delivered the devastating news: our daughter had tested positive for HIV,” the father wrote. “My world came crashing down.”
Tests confirmed neither he, his wife, nor their other children were positive, leaving the family desperate for answers. Their daughter was at first too scared to talk. It was only after a doctor spoke with her privately that the painful truth emerged.
The girl revealed that a man living in their “face-me-I-face-you” compound house had been sexually abusing her since she was just 10 years old. The abuse did not stop there. The man had allegedly invited his friends to do the same.
When asked how many men were involved, she told the doctor: ten.
“Ten men had been preying on my innocent daughter from the age of 10 until she turned 15,” the father wrote, his grief palpable in the post.

The family immediately went to the police. The neighbour was arrested and tested positive for HIV. Faced with the evidence, he began to name others involved. Police arrested five of the men; the rest are said to have fled. All five who were caught also tested positive for the virus.
In his post, the father directed anger and guilt inward. He explained that he runs a market stall and his wife’s husband is a truck driver who is often away for weeks. Their focus on providing financially, he says, came at a terrible cost.

“I blame myself deeply,” he confessed. “Because of our absence and lack of supervision, evil men—monsters—took advantage of my child.”
He ended his story with a direct plea to other parents: “Please take care of your children. Do not neglect them. Do not leave them at home alone without a trusted adult watching over them. This world is full of evil people who will destroy an innocent child if given the chance. Please stay vigilant. Protect your children.”
The identities of the family and the suspects have been withheld. The case continues with the police.
