IPOP Issues Fresh Warning to Imo Residents Over President Buhari Upcoming Visit.
The proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned visit to Imo State on Thursday, 9th September 2021, as it kicks against it with a fresh threat to residents in the state.
IPOB’ s reaction comes after the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma, invited the president to the state a few days ago.
On the reason for the visit, Hope Uzodinma noted that President Buhari would be visiting the state on Thursday to commission significant projects.

The Imo state governor who made the disclosure at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri had also stated that his trip to Abuja (last week) was to ” address some political matters and some critical issues. “
” Imo has been able to attract additional support from Mr. President on the management of some ecological problems in the state.
” Those who support the party at the centre will get both their rights and their privileges”, he had added, ” Governor Uzodinma also said.
Amidst this, in a broadcast on Monday evening, IPOB declared that Thursday will be a sit-at-home protest over the president’s visit as it ordered every Biafran in the state to stay away from any ceremony organised by Hope Uzodinma to welcome President Buhari.
IPOB went on iterating that President Buhari is not welcomed into Imo State on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
According to IPOB, ” all the traditional rulers, all ndi iche and every Biafran should stay away from any ceremony organised by Hope Uzodimma to welcome him. “

This could however create panic among residents in the state considering the tension generated from the arrest and continuous detention of the proscribed groups’ s leader Nnamdi Kanu.
It is also noteworthy that there is an effective order in Imo state barring movements on days Nnamdi Kanu appears in court.
Amidst this, President Buhari’s Thursday visit follows yet another sit-at-home order if the residents choose to obey.
