Lady Who Butchered Her Mother To Pieces In Akwa Ibom Has Been Sentenced To Death.

It was a very sad incident in Akaw lbom state when a lady was caught cutting her own mother into pieces.

Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed that a woman identified as Mary Imewe allegedly butchered her mother by name, Eka Ime, to pieces in Ikot Ekpene local government area of the state.

The incident took place at factory road in Ikot Ekpene city.

It was recalled that the sad incident to place at Ikot Akpang in Ikot Ekpene on Friday, November 26, 2020

According to eyewitnesses, when the police came to arrest her, the suspect who is also known as ‘ Mummy’ reportedly told them to take her away as she does not give a Damm.

The lady said it herself that she doesn’t care and she can be arrested, Elders of the community-made sure she carried her dead mother’s body on her head which she butchered into pieces, a witness revealed.

The Police Spokesperson, SP Odiko Macdon, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, November 27, said the suspect is in police custody and investigations are ongoing on the case.

He said no right-minded individual would slaughter her own mother in such a gruesome manner, noting that the police would have to get medical personnel to certify her state of mind before she is charged to court.

She was totally examined and it was discovered that she was totally ok.

According to the police commissioner, he said that the lady in custody. And they have gathered the corpse of the mom and deposited it in the mortuary. By the time we ascertain her state of mind, we will charge her accordingly.

We have conducted preliminary investigations and more discreet investigations are on the way and she will be charged to court immediately after that, ” he added.

Since then the case has always been in court not until on the 13th of February 2020 when the lady after all a series of investigations and evidence presented in court was found guilty and was sentenced to death.
