Some days back suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari, who is currently in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking, filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

According to Kyari’s suit, which has the case number FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, he is pleading with the court to compel the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to grant him bail on health grounds, pending the hearing and determination of his fundamental right enforcement application.

Mrs P. O. Ikenna, the embattled former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, claimed that he was being held ” on the basis of a false allegation that had been leveled against him” in an ex- parte motion filed through his lawyer.

When the case was called up, however, Justice Inyang Ekwo noted that the suit contained some allegations that would necessitate the Federal Government’ s response.

Following a thorough examination of the Applicant’ s process and the averments in support thereof, the Judge reached the conclusion that the Respondent should be served with a notice of intent to proceed.

In an attempt to persuade the court to order Kyari’ s release on the grounds that ” his health has deteriorated severely, ” my counsel for the Applicant was unsuccessful.

For the time being, it’ s unclear whether Kyari’ s younger brother, who is currently being held by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, was acting as a proxy for his elder brother.

An Enugu drug dealer is said to have tried to buy cocaine from a DCP who was suspended by the police in July over suspicions that he had ties to Hushpuppi.

It was only hours later that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had him on its wanted list for the tainted cop’ s arrest.

Mr. Kyari is wanted for aiding and abetting drug trafficking and running his own international drug cartel, according to the agency’ s spokesperson Femi Babafemi, at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.

It’ s his belief that Mr. Kyari is an active member of a drug cartel that runs the illegal drug pipeline from Brazil to Ethiopia and Nigeria.

On Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2: 12 p. m. , DCP Kyari initiated a call to one of the NDLEA officers in Abuja. According to Mr Babafemi, when the officer returned the call, Kyari informed him that he would meet with him after the Juma’ at service to discuss an operational matter.

Expensive cars of Abba Kyari’ s brother

Abba Kyari’ s younger brother Usman Kyari has started to attract the attention of the public on Instagram for his slick personality.

After Hushpuppi, whose real name is Ramon Abbas, claimed that he had bribed Usman’ s brother, a top detective, the spotlight has been shone on him.

In the time leading up to his recent ordeals, Kyari was well- known for being an active user of social media, especially Instagram.

Photos of him with family members, politicians, and celebrities are the only ones he won’ t post if he’ s not sharing photos of his heroics in the field.

Usman’ s Instagram page, like the DCP’ s, reflects his passion for the finer things in life.

His page, which has nearly 2, 000 followers, is the go- to place for many fashion lovers, featuring everything from photos of his car collection to images of himself wearing well- fitting clothes.

This can be seen in one of the photos, which shows him congratulating Usman Alkali Baba (IGP) on his appointment as Inspector- General of Police (IGP).

On Tuesday, Usman posted a picture of himself and DCP Kyari posing for the camera in an all- blue ensemble.

Femi Fani- Kayode served as Nigeria’ s former minister of aviation, and Usman took to Instagram on Friday to defend his brother over bribery allegations.

He had previously stated that he had not received any money as claimed by Hushpuppi.

However, an FBI investigation found that Kyari and Hushpuppi had a friendly relationship.

Also revealed in the investigation was the fact that Hushpuppi allegedly paid the DCP to have his team arrest a rival fraudster.

The IGP had instructed an internal investigation into the allegations against Kyari in the midst of the ongoing saga.
