Please Don’t Borrow More Money in Shehu Sani And Nigerians Beg Buhari As He Visits Turkey.
Nigerians on Twitter have joined voices with Shehu Sani, a former Senator from Kaduna central, to beg President Muhammadu Buhari not to ask for loan during his stay in Southeastern Europe, Turkey.
Buhari had left Nigeria for Turkey on Friday to attend the third Turkey- Africa Partnership summit, and would likely spend the New Year break.

Reacting to the trip, Shehu stirred response owing to Nigeria’s rising debt, as he wished the president a safe trip with a hilarious message.
Shehu wrote: ” I wish Baba safe trip to Turkey and safe return; pls don’t borrow any money from them…. make we pay China and Saudi first. “

In a related story, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan threw a shade at Buhari over the country’s rising debt profile as he noted that he would have won the famous football award (Ballon d’ Or) if it was given on the bases of borrowings
Reno wrote, ” If there was a Ballon d’ Or for borrowings, it would undoubtedly go to Buhari. If Togo or Ghana agree to lend him money, the shameless bambiala will collect. He has gone everywhere for beg. An eater up of other men’s work. What did we do to deserve this plague? Tueh! “

Reno’s statement came after the House of Representatives approved Buhari’s request for a $5. 8 billion loan and grant of $10 million.
Recall that Buhari had in May, in a letter to the two chambers of the National Assembly, requested to borrow not more than $6. 1 billion 2018– 2020 External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan to fund the 2021 budget deficit.
The approval of the request has continued on discussions with many frowning at it in many quarters.
