On Monday, August 19, 2024, the lifeless body of 22-year-old Mamohlotši Rebecca Nchabeleng, a final-year BEd student at North-West University (NWU), was discovered in her private residence at the Vanderbijlpark Campus, located in the southern part of Gauteng province. The shocking discovery was made after her boyfriend, who had no affiliation with NWU, was found dead earlier that day in Sharpeville, a nearby township.
