Tragedy: How Drug Addict Sets His Mother on Fire After She Gave Him Job.

Steven Jiya, an alleged drug addict, has reportedly set his biological mother, Comfort Jiya, ablaze in Minna, Niger state, Nigeria.

According to reports making waves, his mother, Mrs Comfort Jiya was a former Principal of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Sabon Wuse, and Maryam Babangida Girls’ Science College.

A relation of the deceased who confirmed her death said she passed on at about 3 pm on Friday at the Minna General Hospital where she was receiving treatment for burn injuries.

According to reports, her son had returned from Suleja and went to his mother, Comfort who was reportedly in her kitchen at her residence in Darusalam Area of Minna, then poured petrol on her before lighting her up.

It was also learnt that Steven had made several attempts to harm his mother, but had his way when he poured petrol on her.

Relatives are also attributing the act to his determination to take over the ownership of his mother’s private school where he was given the position of a manager by his deceased mother.

He was arrested by the G.R.A Police Division after he committed the act.
