Unknown to her, it was a deadly trap. Authorities believe the client had already conspired with four other individuals. After she arrived, they allegedly murdered her and dumped her body in a nearby bush.

Luckily for her family and friend seeking justice, before leaving, the nurse reportedly informed her neighbours of her destination—a detail that would later become crucial. When she failed to return, these neighbours raised the alarm, allowing the police to trace her last known whereabouts.

This lead resulted in the swift arrest of the primary suspect, who is said to be from Anambra State. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue to locate his alleged accomplices.

While the police have yet to release an official motive, the court of public opinion has already reached conclusion. The nature of the crime has led many online and within local communities to speculate that the nurse was killed for ritual purposes.

“This is how they operate,” lamented one social media user in the comments section of the post. “They lure you with a fake job or emergency. We need to be very careful.”

“This is the period where we see a high increase in such evil acts,” another comment read, alluding to the approaching December holiday season, a time when financial pressures often intensify. “People will go to any length to make money.”
