Video: Mmesoma’s Father Begs JAMB to Pardon His Daughter After She Confessed to Manipulating Her Result.
Mr. Roman Ejikeme, the father of Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, has publicly expressed his remorse and issued an apology to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigerian public.
This comes in light of his daughter’s recent confession, wherein she admitted to falsifying her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result. Mmesoma had initially claimed to have achieved a score of 362, despite JAMB’s denial of her assertion of being the highest scorer in the examination.
JAMB, in an effort to debunk Mmesoma’s false claim, conducted an investigation comparing her alleged result with the authentic results of other candidates who had taken the same exam.
Subsequently, Mmesoma resorted to posting a video online, showcasing the fabricated result as genuine. This action prompted JAMB to impose a three-year suspension on her.
However, the severity of the penalty sparked public outcry, leading to an independent inquiry initiated by the Anambra State Government.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, the report revealed Mmesoma Ejikeme’s confession of tampering with her UTME result, inflating her actual score of 249 to 362.
Meanwhile, her father, who had previously criticized JAMB and Nigerians for allegedly conspiring against his daughter’s success, has retracted his statements and extended a sincere apology.
Admitting his daughter’s mistake, Mr. Ejikeme acknowledged that she had failed to disclose the truth to him promptly. He expressed regret for initially blaming JAMB, acknowledging that he now fully understands the gravity of her actions.
In an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority, he humbly appealed to JAMB and the Nigerian public to forgive his daughter, expressing his deep remorse for the incident.
“My daughter didn’t open up to me on time. When I was realize the mistake she did, I blamed her a lot but I’m still apologizing to JAMB and Nigerians to pardon her.” Mr Ejikeme said.
