VIDEO: “Nigeria Does Not Have A President, That’s the Grim Reality” – Aisha Yesufu Comes Under Fire For Making Statement On X.
Human rights campaigner Aisha Yesufu, known for speaking out on many public concerns, recently made headlines with her striking statement that Nigeria is without a true leader.
In a Twitter post, she unequivocally stated, “Nigeria does not have a President. That’s the grim reality.”
Yesufu made a comment that started a lot of discussions in Nigeria. People had different opinions about it. Some people supported President Bola Tinubu and did not agree with Yesufu, saying that Nigeria does have a president.
Among those who rallied behind Yesufu is Charly Boy, a prominent Nigerian musician and songwriter. Taking to his Instagram page, Charly Boy suported Yesufu’s statement saying, “Before nko? Seriously, do we have a President? What do you think?”
The conversation happening on social media shows the strong disagreements among Nigerians. Some people agree with Yesufu and Charly Boy and point out problems with the way the country is being run. However, others strongly support the president and refer to the country’s laws to back up their stance.
Chukwuemeka813, a person on social media, shared their doubts, similar to Yesufu’s. He believes that the current leaders are trying to hide old mistakes instead of solving today’s problems. He said, “It’s like Nigeria doesn’t really have a president. We have someone whose job it seems is to keep Nigerians in the dark so that no one will find out about the money that was stolen and the mistakes made while Buhari was in charge.”
Conversely, Bruzion another social media user emphasized the importance of freedom of speech in a democracy, condemning any attempts to silence dissenting voices. “Just imagine, in democracy, we should have freedom of speech; it’s illegal for anyone to attack Aisha,” they remarked.
