VIDEO of GUO Bus Passengers Kidnapped Along Lagos Expressway.
A video has emerged showing the aftermath of a horrific kidnapping incident along the Lagos-Benin Expressway, where gunmen suspected to be bandits hijacked a GUO bus traveling from Lagos to the South-East.
Reports claim that the attackers abducted all passengers on the bus, including the parents of a young girl who was tragically left stranded in the bush. This event has reignited the debate on gun control in Nigeria, with Senator Ned Nwoko reiterating his call for Nigerians to be allowed to carry arms for self-defense.
Reacting to the incident, Senator Nwoko, representing Delta North senatorial district, emphasized the need for self-defense measures, stating that Nigerians should have the right to bear arms. He highlighted the alleged details of the attack, claiming, “This happened to GUO yesterday. They killed the driver, left the small girl there, and kidnapped all the passengers. This is the reason for the Law on self-defense.”
Nwoko further argued that if the driver or any passengers had been armed, the kidnappers might not have been successful. He stressed the power imbalance between criminals and law-abiding citizens, stating, “The only thing they have that good and law-abiding citizens don’t have are guns.” He expressed concern for the fate of the abducted passengers and the trauma the young girl must be enduring.
The shared video reportedly shows the aftermath of the kidnapping, though details regarding its authenticity and content remain unclear.

It’s important to note that Senator Nwoko previously presented a bill recently proposing amendments to allow Nigerians to bear arms for self-defense in response to the worsening security situation across the country.
The issue of gun control in Nigeria is highly contested, with strong arguments on both sides. Proponents of stricter gun control measures argue that increased firearm availability would exacerbate gun violence, while those advocating for relaxed restrictions believe it would empower citizens to protect themselves and deter criminals.
This tragic incident has brought the debate back into the spotlight, and Nwoko’s statement is likely to further fuel the discussion.
