There are no particular reasons why the new governor-elect of Osun State Ademola Adeleke removed three Monarchs other than to further strengthen his political ambition.

On Monday 27th November 2022, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who is the current governor of the state of Osun, took three new monarchs out of their palaces. They were Prince Ademola Oluponle Raphael of Aree, Prince Yinusa Olalekan Akadiri, Prince Akinrun of Ikirun, and Prince Gboyega Famoodu of Owa of Igbajo.

Governor Ademola Adeleke made six Executive Orders about chieftainship, appointments, and more issues. However, Governor Ademola Adeleke then told the security agencies to move into their mansions right away. In order to keep law and order from breaking down even deeper, the appointments of Akinrun of Ikirun, Aree of Ire, and Owa of Igbajo are put on hold, he said.

Following July 17, 2022, the state of Osun government must review all appointments of traditional rulers to ensure that they are in strict compliance with declarations of leadership and Indigenous laws, customs, and traditions. All appointments scheduled by the Government of the State of Osun after July 17, 2022, are canceled in accordance with the order.
