11-Year-Old Lay Lay Becomes ‘Youngest Female Rapper’ to Score a Record Deal with Empire

New hip hop artist Alaya High almost broke the Internet after her freestyle video went viral and the now the 11-year-old is making boss moves.

High, who goes by the name ‘Lay Lay’ took to Instagram on Wednesday and announced that she signed a recording deal with music label “Empire.” She wrote, “It’s official!!! I am the YOUNGEST FEMALE RAP ARTIST to sign a record deal😱😩😝 I would like to thank my fans… Look out for my first single ‘Go Lay Lay Go’ ALBUM ON THE WAY!”

Born in Houston, Texas, High became the youngest female rapper to ink a deal with Empire according to XXL. The record label witnessed Lay Lay’s skills when the girl’s father recorded her free-styling over rap artist’s BlocBoy JB’s “Shoot” song. The tweet instantly went viral and was retweeted over 100,000 times.

High already has a fan based who congratulated the pre-teen on her success and anxious for new music.

“Go lay lay go congratulations sweetie,” one person wrote.

“Hey girl! Congrats! You’re doing big things! Fun fact: We share the same name!! Haha keep shining,” another one of Lay Lay’s supporter added.

“Congratulations!!! I’m so excited to see your growth as an artist,” an Instagram user said.

The 11-year-old is on her way to accomplishing big things in the music industry and currently resides in the Atlanta area with her family. She added onInstagram, “Would like to say THANK YOU!!! To EVERYBODY , thank you sooo much! Sorry I’m behind on my freestyles…working on my album.”
