18-Year-Old Carpenter Kidnapped in Ibadan After Responding to Fake Job Request.
Bello Afeez Oluwapelumi, an 18-year-old carpenter, was kidnapped on April 1, 2024, after being lured by individuals pretending to be clients seeking his carpentry services.
According to his sister, Bello Karimat Iyanuoluwa, who spoke with LIB, Afeez was abducted on his birthday. Despite paying a ransom, the family has been unable to reach the kidnappers.

Karimat explained, “My brother was kidnapped on his 18th birthday after being called under the guise of a carpentry job. The kidnappers used his phone to contact us, and since then, they’ve demanded money through various bank and POS accounts. We have all the account details available if needed.”
She added, “It’s been two months since we last heard from the abductors after four months of continuous demands. We involved the police from the beginning, paying for tracking services twice (at Iyaganku, Ibadan, and with Amotekun). Unfortunately, nothing has been done despite the payments.

“I initially posted about it on Twitter, but it didn’t gain attention because I have a small following.
“Please, I just want you to help share his picture so we can find him, dead or alive. It’s been six months of sleepless nights and distress for my family. We would greatly appreciate any assistance.”
Anyone with information regarding Afeez’s whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station.
