9 Feared Dead And Many Flee For Their Lives As Unknown Gunmen Attacks A Community In Anambra State.

Unknown gunmen lunched an attack in one of the communities in Anambra state forcing many people to flee for their lives. The community attacked was ” Awkuzu” . It was reported that about 9 people lost their lives in the attack.

It was also reported that the video of the incidence has already started circulating on social media, some of the people killed in the attack were decapitated. It was also reported that many students of Anambra State University who live in the area began to fear for their lives forcing students to leave the community.

Speaking on the attack, the police command in Anambra State release a statement pertaining the attack.

Base on the statement, Monday Bala Kuryas the Anambra State Commissioner of Police ordered the fast deployment of police men to out the place in order and arrest the people involved in the crime.

Base on the reports, it says that the armed men who attacked Ukpomachi Village, Awkuzu in Oyi LGA of the State, came with weapons and machetes, and other things used in committing the crime.

Part of the statement reads ” The assailants, said to be armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons, invaded the village in their numbers and attacked the residents, resulting in the death of nine (9) persons (whose identities are yet unknown), injuries on some others as well as the destruction of buildings and livestock. “

The attack was said to have put people in constant fear, many people had to flee for their lives. However, thank God for the police who restored normalcy in the area. There have been series of attacks in Anambra and most of these attacks have claimed the lives of many people. The Nigerian government needs to put more effort into the issue of insecurity in the country, many lives have been lost and it has to stop.
