New Details Emerge in Killaboi Case as Court Hears How Body Was Found in Lagos.
The Lagos State High Court resumed hearings in the murder case against social media influencer Benjamin, better known as Killaboi, who is accused of killing his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.
The court session, which took place recently heard new and chilling details about the discovery of the victim’s body. Augusta’s uncle took the stand and gave a step-by-step account of how the family found her at Killaboi’s home in the Ajah area of the state.
According to the witness, the family grew worried after not hearing from Augusta for three days. Their attempts to reach her were unsuccessful, prompting them to contact her friend, Oyin. It was Oyin who led them to the residence she shared with the defendant.
The uncle explained the difficulty they faced gaining access to the gated estate. Because they did not have an entry code or an invitation, they anticipated trouble getting in. Oyin had warned them that security was tight.
“We had to go there with a soldier,” the uncle testified. “Oyin said they wouldn’t let us in without an invite. The soldier spoke to the estate security men, and one of them agreed to accompany us.”

When they finally got to Killaboi’s house, something felt immediately wrong. The gate was slightly ajar, as if someone had left in a hurry. Walking inside the compound, they immediately spotted Augusta’s car. The keys were sitting on the bonnet.
“We started shouting her name, but there was no answer,” he told the court.
Just as they were about to try and enter the main apartment, the estate security guard who had accompanied them blocked the way, insisting they could not proceed without a search warrant.
Refusing to wait any longer, the uncle ran to a nearby police station and returned with two officers. With the police present, a ladder was brought to access the upper-floor apartment. The uncle recalled that the officers asked him to climb the ladder first.
What he saw through the window has stayed with him.
“I saw a pool of blood spreading across the floor of the apartment,” he said, his voice heavy. “I looked further and saw a body. It was swollen, but I could still recognize her. It was my niece.”
He described the scene as chaotic and horrifying. The body was later evacuated by the authorities.
The testimony also shed light on how the case broke open. According to the uncle, Augusta’s friend, Oyin, had been following Killaboi on social media. While the family was in shock, Oyin saw him posting online.
“He was confessing,” the uncle stated. “He was talking about how he killed her after a quarrel.”
Oyin immediately alerted the family, who showed the posts to the police. The officers managed to save the content before it was taken down, but not before it had already started to spread online. The disturbing posts quickly went viral, confirming the family’s worst fears.

Investigations later revealed that the defendant did not just stab Augusta. The court heard that after the attack, her internal organs were removed. It was also alleged that Killaboi had fled the country after committing the crime, though he has since been apprehended and is now in custody.
Following the testimony, the presiding judge adjourned the case. The trial is set to continue on April 22 and 23, 2026.
