After 11 Years of Waiting, Nigerian Journalist Ifeanyi Welcomes First Child.
A Nigerian journalist, Ifeanyi Okali, has been shedding tears of joy following the safe delivery of his daughter.
The man, who is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, has been married for 11 years to his beautiful wife but without a child.
Taking to his social media, Ifeanyi thanked God for the blessing of a child, a daughter for that matter. It is said that when you have a girl child, it means more business connections. Ifeanyi wrote: “I am glad that after 11 years, God has graciously blessed my family in a special way. We have just welcomed a baby girl, our very first child since our marriage in 2012. God still answers prayers. May His name be praised.”

The news brought many reactions on social media, as many believed it was a miracle—and yes, miracles still happen. You know, in Africa, especially Nigeria, when a couple is childless, it is a matter of interest, and there will be pressure from many corners, mostly from the mother of the husband, and the blame usually goes to the wife. In most cases, they will believe the woman is barren. We have seen cases where the woman is even forced out of her home, and a new wife is brought to replace her by the mother-in-law.
Ifeanyi also thanked family members, friends, and colleagues who have been supporting them by standing with them and also in prayers. He encouraged those looking for a child to keep believing in God and to keep all hopes alive.
Ifeanyi could be seen with baby powder all over him, as it is the tradition of Nigerians from the eastern part of the country to pour baby powder on a new father.
