Amac Withdraws Marshall Guards (Agboro) From Transport Activities.

The Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido has directed with immediate effect the withdrawal of AMAC Marshall Guards from all transport activities within the Area Council.

In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Media and Public Relations, Chief Dayo Lawal said that the Chairman took this decision as a result of certain developments in the Area Council in the public interest.

He said that the Marshall Guards have since been redeployed to continue with their statutory functions of assisting the conventional security agencies in ensuring a secured society, adding that any person or group of persons found in AMAC uniform or otherwise carrying out any transport activities is illegal and should be reported immediately as they are, therefore, restricted to perform only functions that are related to their statutory roles.

It will be recalled that the management of Abuja Municipal Area Council established the AMAC Marshall Guards as a special security outfit to compliment the effort of the conventional security agencies in combating crimes within the Area Council.

And in the course of their operations, they were deployed to the streets to enforce traffic laws as it concern wrong parking and other traffic offences.
