Apostle Ezekiel Dachomo Surveys Destruction of Communities and Churches in Northern Nigeria After Terrorist Attacks.

Apostle Ezekiel Dachomo, a Christian leader known for speaking openly about the violence affecting Christian communities in Nigeria, has brought new attention to the issue following a recent visit to affected areas in the country’s north.

His journey was to assess the damage inflicted upon communities and churches that have been targeted by armed groups. The pictures he shared tell a story of profound loss: churches reduced to blackened shells, homes and vehicles destroyed by fire, and entire communities that have simply vanished from the map.

The images, circulated widely on social media, show the scorched remains of buildings that were once places of worship and family life. In some areas, the destruction is so complete that residents have been forced to flee, creating a growing number of displaced people who can no longer return to their villages due to persistent attacks.

On a Facebook post featuring the photographs, one user offered a passionate tribute to the apostle’s work. “This is Apostle Ezekiel Dachomo, the man of God that nobody wants to talk about in Nigeria today,” the user wrote. “Still, his impacts and trial of faith is shaking the world.”

The post went on to detail the personal losses Dachomo has endured, including his own home, church, and car being burned. It also mentioned church members who were killed for their faith. The user described the challenging conditions of Dachomo’s ministry, stating he sometimes preaches in roofless churches and has witnessed violence firsthand.

“Sometimes right at your presence the terrorists would attack and kill them, while you manage to escape,” the post read. “Only to return to the scene to see the lifeless bodies of people you preached to just a moment ago and you and you alone would have to bury them.”

The social media commentary also expressed frustration with larger Christian organizations in Nigeria, suggesting they have remained silent in the face of these crises. In contrast, the user portrayed Dachomo as “a voice in the wilderness,” standing alone to draw attention to the suffering.

The situation in Nigeria has garnered attention beyond its borders. United States Senator Ted Cruz has cited figures of over 50,000 Christians killed in Nigeria and has called for the U.S. administration to formally redesignate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act, pointing to the severe violence faced by Christian communities.

Apostle Dachomo’s documentation provides a grim visual account that gives weight to these international calls for action, showing a reality where faith and survival are deeply intertwined.
