Burna Boy Involvement In Club Shootings and His Alleged Escape to Spain – Full Gist.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special Squad has arrested five officers linked to musician Damini Ogulu, alias Burna Boy, for attempted murder after shooting two revellers, Irebami Lawrence and Tolu, at Club Cubana on Victoria Island in Lagos on Wednesday.

The musician and five police escorts visited the nightclub at about 4 a.m. on June 8, according to a preliminary investigation by the Bar Beach Police Division.

Four police officers waited outside as one of them, Inspector Ibrahim, who was dressed in mufti, escorted the Grammy-winning performer into the club.

The musician was in the VIP section with three women when he saw another woman, according to various witness testimony.

He allegedly urged Ibrahim to invite the woman to come with him.

The lady’s husband, on the other hand, was alleged to have slammed the artist, claiming that any guy making overtures at his wife was disrespectful.

Burna Boy reportedly made more passes at the woman after a few minutes.

This upset her spouse even more, as did his buddies at the club.

“As things heated up, Ibrahim pulled out his service weapon and fired numerous shots while Burna Boy laughed,” a senior cop stated.

Lawrence, 27, was shot in the leg during the incident, while his companion Tolu was struck in the head by a bullet. There was a ruckus in the club as a result of this.

Burna Boy was said to have traveled to Spain immediately after the incident and only informed his Police escort via a video call.

All efforts to reach him or his manager and mother have been impossible.
