How Angry Youths Burn Down A Trailer Full of Cow Over The Killing of A Boy in Oyo State.
The youths of Saki, a village in Oyo State, some weeks back burnt a truck filled with cows that were being taken out from Saki for killing a boy, named Ayuba Raji.
Reporters revealed that the incident occurred at the Challenge junction, along a road under construction in the town.
A resident of the city, Kazeem Adeniyi, told reporters in Ibadan presently that the ongoing road construction work was responsible for the accident.
According to him, motorists like to drive on the wrong road, which explains the recent accidents.
He also blamed speeding and reckless driving by truck drivers for the problem.
Another villager and proponent of Saki village development, Mr. Adekunle Lawal, popularly known as Saki First, condemned contractors constructing the Saki highway.
He blamed the project management for many of the accidents that occurred in the area.
He said, ” on Monday, January 11, 2021, at about 10 p. m. , an accident occurred at the Challenge junction, killing a child, Ayuba Raji, the younger brother of a popular Yoruba presenter and musician, Monsurat Raji. The boy was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by a truck carrying cows.
” An angry mob burned the truck. It was late before Saki the First (Lawal) could contact the police to prevent them from doing more damage. Speeding and reckless driving are what we know from these cow transporters. Now is the time to make sure the Federal Highway Traffic Safety Administration educates people on proper driving. We took the step last year, but the COVID- 19 pandemic has prevented us from moving forward with it.
” We sympathize with the family of the deceased; contractors also need to do something urgently. This was the second accident in just three months. “
