HUMBLE BEGINNINGS! Pretty UNILAG Student Who Went Viral For Selling Garri Finally Launches Her Brand.
With the state of the country, it takes some degree of ingenuity to scale above the poverty line as being just a graduate does not cut it in the realities of being a Nigeria.
Anwuli Onwochie, a lady studying at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has finally launched her garri business two years after going viral for selling garri on campus.

She is now the proud owner of her own branded business called The garri geh.
After an interview with Legit in 2019, the student who sold garri in the evening and sometimes during school hour became a viral sensation.
According to Anwuli, she normally takes the number of wraps ordered with her to school and has it delivered to the buyers.
The 2-year-old interview opened doors for the entrepreneurial undergrad as many people who were impressed with her business contacted her and she made massive sales in a short period of time.

She further disclosed that a foundation called Biodun and Ibikunle Foundation supported her financially.
The young entrepreneur plans to make garri more international.

A Nigerian lady has stunned social media users with her craft and source of livelihood. The lady identified as EduEle on Twitter had taken to the platform to share pictures of herself helping her mother fry yellow Garri.
Edu said they both had to get through the great smoke and heat in order to deliver a great product that serves as the main family income.
Netizens heaped praises on the young lady, saying that she is different from a whole lot out there who are waiting to be someone else’s dependants. Photos shared on the bird app show the lady frying yellow garri in a big open pot as she stirred it with a stick after adding palm oil.

The situation in Nigeria is tough especially for graduates who have nothing to do, no skills, no employment. In spite of all this, many youths are still waiting for the Nigerian government to provide employment for them so that they can work and earn a living.
Meanwhile, a Nigerian graduate who had decided to take his own faith into his hands by selling garri has shared his story with the world.
Anichebe Chidubem Joachim lost his job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which ravaged most parts of the world, including Nigeria in the most part of 2020, and has decided to help himself by selling garri on the streets of Enugu.
In an interview with Kemi Filani, Chidubem, who is a graduate of Philosophy from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in an interview revealed that he makes as low as 4,500 naira daily from his garri hawking business and he also revealed his challenges.
The Igbo-born corporate worker cum businessman by circumstances says he is proud of his garri hawking business as it helps to put food on the table.
On his Educational background, he said;
“I am a graduate of Philosophy from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) and I graduated in 2014.”
On why he ventured into the Garri business, he replied;
“I started this business after I lost my job as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown. I sell white Garri on the streets. I hawk with a wheelbarrow. I decided to venture into the business because I was getting broke it moves the market faster than any other products. And people must eat”.
On how lucrative the business is, he said;
“I make above #1500 after selling a bag, and depending on the market, i sell like 2 to 3 bags daily”#
“I love meeting up with people’s needs, hence the joy and strength to carry on. No one should despise their days of little beginning as little drops of water make an ocean”.
On his challenges, he said;
“There is no job that is easy and I have pride in what I do. I am stealing so no need to be ashamed. The only challenge I have now is capital to boost up my business now. I am really having challenges with my capital.”
