An eyewitness, who recorded one of the videos, described the severity of the situation. “Our train just now on our way to Kaduna at Asham, it is a very serious situation,” the passenger stated. “I’m still there waiting for a solution, everyone is in a panic. We are in a thick forest.”
Fear among passengers could be seen in the video as it captures passengers invoking divine intervention, with cries of “Jesus is Lord,” while others expressed dread about potential kidnappings or attacks from unknown assailants, as a result of the security challenges plaguing the route.
