Just in: Aso Villa Record Another Death of Key Staff.

Mrs Buhari, via her social media handle today, announced Yekini’s death describing him as “very committed, dedicated and courageous”.

The late protocol staff had worked in her office for four years and died after a prolonged fight with diabetes.
According to the first lady’s statement, it read: “While commiserating with the family of the deceased, she wrote, “On behalf of my family and the entire staff of my office, I wish to condole the family of Mr. Sani Yekini, a protocol officer in my office, who died earlier today. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus.”

“Mr Yekini served in my office for 4 years, he was down with diabetes and lost the battle today.
“He was a very committed, dedicated, and courageous staff. May God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Recall last month, President Muhammadu also lost a close aide whose death came just four days after the death of the chief of staff, Abba Kyari.
The president’s late aide, Lawal Mato, from Jigawa state, was a warrant officer and one of the presidential bodyguards attached directly to the office of the president.
Just like the late Sani Yekini, He also died after a three-year battle with diabetes.
The late Mato was part of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s personal security team and was drafted to join Buhari’s team in 2015.
He had worked closely with Buhari after Yar’Adua’s death in 2010.
While Aso rock mourns, we commiserate with the first lady and pray for the soul of the deceased.
