Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Monday visited the scene of a fatal gas explosion that occurred on Saturday along Kachia Road, Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking while inspecting the scene of the incident, the governor ordered a ban on gas retail shops in residential and high-risk areas with immediate effect.
“By this directive, all retail gas refill shops operating in the said areas are to shut down.
“Similarly, ministries and agencies concerned with public safety have also been directed to review high risk businesses in residential areas and come up with a relocation plan with immediate effect,” El-Rufai said, in a statement by his Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State Police Command Monday said the death toll in the Saturday gas explosion has risen to six.
