A man was arrested by police yesterday after he was seen with a stork bird which they alleged was about to be used for witchcraft.

The young man was apprehended by plain clothed policemen in Kisoro Municipality, Uganda after he was caught red handed with the long-necked bird.

When asked where he was taking the said bird, he said he was going to rear it.

The officer wasn’t convinced thus taking him to Kisoro Police.

Residents in Russia(a surburb in Kisoro Municipality) were reported to have said that such birds have been used by Congolese in neighboring DRC for witchcraft.

Storks are large, long-legged, long-necked wading birds with long, stout bills.

They belong to the family called Ciconiidae, and make up the order Ciconiiformes.They’re common in Kisoro district’s Mayors Gardens.
