Photo of 83-year-Old Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Sitting on the Floor Calls for Debate.
It is no news that Yoruba tribes are one of the most outstanding in terms of respect and loyalty.
This fact has been proved once again as a photo of former President of Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo sitting on the floor emerged online.
According to reports making rounds, Chief Olusegun paid a visit to a Yoruba leader Reuben Fasoranti who is also an elder statesman in Nigeria. The visit which happened on Friday, September 25th was in celebration of Fasoranti’sS birthday as he turned 95.
It was said that the former Nigeria leader ignored the seat offered him and rather sat on the bare floor as a sign of respect and loyalty to the elder statesman Reuben Fasoranti.
Not minding his age and political achievements, Obasanjo was said to have showered praise on Fasoranti, the celebrant while exchanging pleasantries and jokes with everyone present.
A typical Yoruba man is trained to prostrate by lying on the floor while greeting or addressing elders. It is considered a taboo for them to stand and greet elders.
He could be seen resting one of his hands on the legs of the celebrant while they both laughed and enjoyed each other’s company.
It appears the Ex-Nigerian president didn’t go alone as another elderly man could also be seen sitting on the floor just beside him
Youruba people are also known to be appreciative. If you grant a favour to any Yoruba person be it male or female, they can praise you a million times every day.
This is a good character every other tribe in Nigeria should emulate.
Respect and loyalty are very key both in business and personal life.
A man can give you half of his kingdom if only you know how to appreciate and praise him.
Thumps up to the former leader of Nigeria for being selfless and teaching others to be respectful to their elders regardless of their status.
