There have been a lot of unpleasant events in Nigeria and the most common challenge is insecurity. While the federal government led by President Muhamadu Buhari is attempting to stop this, the United States of America responded to the way in which the federation handled the situation.
Former Ambassador of the United States in Nigeria, Mr. John Campbell, said that if the federal government fails to address the issue of human rights abuses by security forces, Nigeria may never receive technical and financial aid from the US and its allies in its fight against insecurity.

Continuing, Campbell argued against paying ransom to the bandits as a solution to the abduction problem, Calling them illegal in both the United States and Nigeria.

In his speech on Matthew T, an American political expert in Africa page stated that the Nigerian army’ s refusal to accept international military cooperation was another major obstacle to Nigeria access to aid, in the fight against insecurity, from abroad.
” Payment of the ransom is illegal in America, but it could be extremely unpopular, especially those who are close to the abducted victims. It is also illegal in Nigeria, but prevalent in the country, ” he said.
