It was a very shocking and sad incident in Calabar the capital of Cross River state as the assistant police commissioner was axed to death by unknown men.
The main reason why the innocent police boss was killed was not known to so many people, investigations were seriously done by the police force to apprehend his killers.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Egbe Eko Edum, was axed to death by unknown assailants while visiting his family in Calabar the capital of Cross River state.
The victim was the Commanding Officer of the 73 Squadron of the Police Mobile Force, Magumeri, Borno State, he was said to be on a visit to his family when he was attacked and killed in the early hours of Wednesday by unknown men who did not disclose the main reason why he was killed.

It was gathered that the Commissioner of Police had arrived at the Calabar Airport from Abuja Airport, and was at the car park on Murtala Mohammed Way, waiting for his wife to pick him up when the hoodlums attacked and killed him with an axe on the spot.
The wife of the commissioner said she was close to the airport when she heard the death of the husband and she burst into tears, the state police public relation officer Irene Ughbo who confirmed the man’s death, said the police command had fixed in an extensive investigation into the death of their boss.

He told newsmen at the point of the incident that the police have been pinched in a very bad place and they are ready to apprehend the killers of the innocent police boss.
The state police commissioner who confirmed the incident two days ago spoke to journalists at the state police headquarters assuring them that he has put in place modalities that will enable the police bring the killers of the innocent police boss to book, he told news men that uptill today since the police boss was killed the police have been on their toes to make sure his killers are brought to book.

The police commissioner added that anybody that is caught and verified to be the killers of the police commissioner will be killed instantly.
