“Rita Was All I Had”– Tears As Mother of Nigerian Lady Killed In Italy by Her Husband Reveals More Facts.
Tears flowed as some pressmen and nongovernmental organizations went to pay the mother of the late Rita Amenze, the Nigerian lady that was killed by her Italian husband, a condolence visit in her home in Benin City where she revealed some things we never knew about her late daughter.
With tears gushing down her cheeks as the interview flows, Rita’ s mother, Mrs. Faith Oyahiagbon, said she had lost her hope and family’ s breadwinner. She said her daughter, until her death, was a 31- year- old mother of three children.

She said Rita left Nigeria when her last born was just six months old. She left the baby with her and the other two siblings to take care of them while she seeks greener pastures abroad. She said they were happy that she made it to Italy, only to hear that her husband over there killed her because of rumors that she came to Nigeria to marry another man.

Recall that the late Rita’ s husband in Italy, Pierangelo Pellizar, 61, in Noventa Vicentina, Italy on Friday, September 10, two weeks after she returned from Nigeria, killed her. The report then said Rita asked for a divorce after returning to Italy from a short visit to Nigeria. This fuels the rumors that Rita came to Nigeria to marry and went back to Italy to divorce the Italian man after he had allegedly helped her to secure citizenship through their marriage.
However, Rita’ s mother has debunked the rumors. She said Rita only came to see her family including the three children she left behind; she never got married to anyone during her short visit to Nigeria.

” Rita was my daughter and my firstborn for that matter. She was all I had. She came home recently to see the children and we were all joyous. She had been in Italy for a long time just to seek a greener pasture, ” Mrs. Oyahiagbon said.
The father of Rita’ s children also corroborated Rita’ s mother’ s claim that he never married Rita when she came home. Although they have three children together, nothing like a marriage between them.

” We didn’ t marry either registry or traditional. Yes, we had children, there was nothing like a marriage between us. I have my wife (pointing to a woman beside him) and we are happily married. But Rita has been a source of survival for these children. She cared and catered for their upbringing and paid their school fees, ” Mr. Frank Akpoguma, the father of Rita’ s children said.
Meanwhile, the family members are using the medium of the visit of the delegation of the Edo National Association in Italy (ENAI) and the National Union of Nigerian Associations in Italy (NUNAI) who paid them a condolence visit to ask for justice for their daughter.
They want the Nigerian government and the Italian government to ensure justice is done to the man who murdered their daughter.
