SSAP Yakasai Lauds Niger State Governor’s Leadership During Courtesy Visit.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the Northwest, Honourable Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, recently paid a courtesy visit to his friend, His Excellency Mohammed Umar Bago, the Executive Governor of Niger State, at the Government House in Minna.
The visit coincided with the Governor’s participation in the Traditional and Religious Leaders’ Conference on the Significance of Girls’ Education in the North-Central. The conference was organized by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Niger State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), and the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project.

During the event, Governor Bago emphasized the crucial role traditional and religious leaders play in advocating for girls’ education. He described their involvement as a strategic tool for advancing gender equity, empowering women, and fostering sustainable development through practical and actionable initiatives.
In addition, the Governor highlighted his administration’s efforts to empower women through his Agricultural Transformation Plan, which aims to create over 3,000 jobs for women across the agricultural value chain.

Honourable Yakasai expressed admiration for Governor Bago’s leadership and dedication to transformative governance. Speaking on the visit, Yakasai said, “It was indeed a remarkable visit as I’ve seen the vision in you to which you will be an inspiring leader that people will want to emulate.”
He also commended Governor Bago for his action-driven government, saying, “I salute the FARMER Governor for his commitment and action-driven government not only towards girls’ education but also across every critical segment of the state. From Agriculture to Education, Infrastructural Development, Health Care, and significantly, Human Capital Development. Best wishes to the FARMER Governor.”
