Tension In Calabar As Suspected Cultists Invades CRUTECH And Parades All Female Students Out OF The Hostels.
There was tension in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State in the early hours of Friday, 4 June 2021 when some group of hoodlums invaded Cross River State University (CRUTECH), the state owned Varsity in Calabar.
The gunmen numbering more than 20, suspected to be cultists went on a rampage in the Cross River State University of Technology, CRUTECH, killed one person, and forcing students out of the hostels, with some of the female students almost naked.

It was gathered that the hoodlums first disarmed all the security men at the school’s gate and stripped them naked, forcing them to lay face down on the floor, threatening to kill anyone who dares to raise his head.

According to a source around the school gate who spoke to journalists on grounds of anonymity, disclosed that the sounds of gunshots were heard at the hostel area and some of the male and female students were seen gathering in front of the school gate.
A female student simply identified as Jane, who spoke to our correspondent, disclosed that some heavily armed gunmen stormed the hostel in the early hours of Friday morning and chased everyone out of the hostels threatening to drive a bullet into the skull of anyone who disobeys their directives.

She said, “Some of us are almost naked and the gunmen have locked the hostels threatening to shoot anyone who who dares them.”
“We do not have any idea where they come from” .
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the school, Mr Onen Onen, said he was on his way to the school and will get back to our correspondent.

Onen said, “I’m currently on my way to the school and will tell you what is going on there when I assess the situation when I get there”
